Ms Charis Mullen

Queensland Member of Parliament

Charis Mullen graduated as part of State High's class of 1991. Since attending State High she has earned multiple qualifications including a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma in Superannuation and a Certificate IV in Frontline Management. While completing her Bachelor of Arts, it was a young Anastasia Palaszczuk who inspired Charis to delve into the world of politics by joining her local UQ Labour club. Since her UQ Labour days she has gone on to work 20 years in the private and public sector of politics before being elected as State Member.

She now lives in Greater Springfield with her husband and two daughters while being committed to ensuring that the electoral seat of Jordan has access to good planning, infrastructure and services to meet the needs of her flourishing community. Her two daughters inspire her when considering the needs for her community. Her oldest daughter is very invested in the environment, so Charis is always on the lookout for opportunities to improve the environment in her area.

Charis's fondest memory of attending State High was her performance at the Rock 'n' Roll eisteddfod at the Boondall Entertainment Centre, which gave those students the chance to perform at Expo 88.
