Last Dinosaurs
Indie Rock Band
Last Dinosaurs are an Australian indie rock band. The band consists of Sean Caskey (lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist, Class of 2007), Lachlan Caskey (lead guitarist, Class of 2009), Michael Sloane (bass guitarist, Class of 2007) and Danjuro Koyama (drummer). The Last Dinosaurs have recently returned from their UK, EU and US tour playing sold out gigs in major venues.
The band was founded when Sean Caskey met Danjuro Koyama while attending Brisbane State High and the two bonded immediately through their shared love of music. They were later joined by Sean's brother, Lachlan and final member, Michael Sloane. Last Dinosaurs first found success on Triple J Unearthed with their EP, Back from the Dead. Then in 2012, their debut studio album, In a Million Years, was released to critical acclaim and debuted in the Australian top 10.
The band has toured extensively, performing sold-out shows across Australia, Europe, South Africa, Asia, North America and Central America. Despite these extensive travels, living and working in various countries around the world, Sean believes "I'll always come back to Brisbane because I've got heaps of good friends and there's an awesome scene hereā¦". The Caskey brothers and bandmate, Koyama, have Japanese background and their work often contains references to this shared heritage and experiences. Sean's advice is to "Do what you want to do and believe in yourself".
