Ms Rachel Okine

Seasoned executive, Rachel Okine (Class of 1997), has had an illustrious career in the film industry. She joined Australian film and TV production company Aquarius Films as its managing director and also worked with STX International in a position covering U.K. theatrical and international sales. Okine began her career in the acquisitions department of FilmFour in London in 2001. Returning to Australia in 2002, she moved from marketing to production and joined independent film distribution company, Hopscotch, as a founding staff member. During this time she managed publicity and marketing campaigns of numerous titles before her role evolved to focus on the acquisition of international and local films. Okine was the first recipient of the Natalie Miller Fellowship, which recognises entrepreneurship and excellence in the Australian screen industry. She later became Paris-based VP of international production and acquisitions for French-owned studio and distributor StudioCanal, where she acquired titles for the French, German and Australia / New Zealand markets.
